Fairs and exhibitions related to craft and paintings are generally held in galleries like Lalit Kala Academy, Sangeet Natak Academy and National Gallery of Modern Art.  A religious fair called as Roza Sharit Nawab Saif Ali Mela is held near the sacred tomb of Baba Saif Khan. It is held every year in January and June. Apart from this, animal fairs are organized every month in the Mela Ground located there.

The local people of the city enjoy simple cuisine. Home-cooked food is generally rich and spicy. Meals consist of plain rice and dal along with vegetable curry. Parathas are usually prepared with lots of ghee. People are fond of milk and all kinds of dairy products. Lassi and Mattha are served after every meal.
