Geography of Bahadurgarh

The Gateway of Haryana, Bahadurgarh, has gone through a great changes in the past few years. The town has transformed into a well known industrial hub of NCR. Massive industrialization and commercialization has brought about a change in the climatic conditions of the region too. Basically, the region of Bahadurgarh falls in the district Jhajjar in Haryana state. It lies in the north- eastern part of India and is not that far from the national capital, Delhi.

Topography of Bahadurgarh

The total area of the city is approximately 50km2. It is physically located on an alluvial plain at a height of 206meters above sea level. The composition of the soil is heterogeneous while the texture is sandy loam. Besides this, the soil is deficient in nitrogen, phosphorous and organic carbon. Water resources are less in this region. However, the state government has undertaken measures to develop ground waters in Bahadurgarh.

Climate in Bahadurgarh

The climate in the city is much similar to that in Delhi. As the town is geographically located in the northern plains of India, it shares the same climatic conditions with the other northern regions. The place faces extreme climatic conditions.

Hot Summers
Bahadurgarh experiences very high day temperatures in summer. The temperature in most of the days is 40°C. Summers are indeed scorching hot especially in the months of May and June. Hot summer winds called Loo blow over the entire region of Bahadurgarh.

Monsoon
The monsoon season commences from early June and lasts till October. The heaviest rainfall occurs during August and July. By the end of October, rainfall recedes and the climate becomes pleasant.

Cold Winters
The cold winter season commences from the middle of November and ends by the end of February. Though winters are moderately cold in Bahadurgarh, yet the region experiences extreme low temperatures of 2°C or 3°C in December. The northern cold waves further increases the cold in January.

Best Time of Visit Bahadurgarh

It is better to visit the city during autumn and early spring. The time between October and the month of November is regarded as the ideal time to explore Bahadurgarh as the climate during these months is cool and pleasant.
